This week is going to be a doozy emotion-wise. There’s simply no way around it. However aligned and grounded you are and however deep a cleansing you’ve done, unless your life is teflon in all areas that touch on emotion (and then who is to say that those you have connections with aren’t doing the Retrograde Questioning & Reevaluationing Dance to Love & Beauty?), you might just be doing the Kleenex Shuffle or in lieu of it, acting out in a Three Easy Pieces Jack Nicholson way, before this week is done and you receive your Golden Ticket to go hang with Mike TV in the factory of creamy chocolate goodness that is very possibly what Our Lady of Astrology will present you with sometime between Via Combusta’s yearly death & Venus’ stationing direct in her role as Morning Star of the cosmos.
Because I’m a water drenched metaphysical practitioner (cancer-scorpio-neptune), here are some tips to weathering these Streets of Fire.
Release release release
…………all of those pent up emotions that might have been the result of a sideways look last week to a deep unhealed wound or scar not fully formed to the pain you know you’re going to inflict to your significant other when you announce soon that they’re not bringing you the love and beauty you aspire to have need to have must have for your very soul.
Some ways to release:
Music. Play it loud and play it sad and let yourself go. Cry me a river. ……………..
Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here (the saddest song ever written…. )
Movies. Ones where pain happens & you must cry cry cry.
Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias, Marley and Me, Last Days, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Brokeback Mountain, Dallas Buyer’s Club, Streets of Philadelphia, Betty Blue, Gallipoli, Sunset Boulevard, The Year of Living Dangerously, Harold and Maude, Sophie’s Choice, The Life of David Gale, The Way We Were (then play the song over and over), A Star is Born (any version), Old Yeller, Bambi, Lion King, The Fox & the Hound, Dumbo, Silkwood, Ordinary People, The Killing Fields, American History X, Elephant Man, Edward Scissorhands, Atonement (and if you’re really a sadist, read the freaking book), The Great Gatsby (any version).
The final episodes of Breaking Bad
almost any episode of Sons of Anarchy
Celestial Navigation by Anne Tyler, Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife (not the movie! the book!), The Great Gatsby, Atonement, The Boys in the Band, Charlotte’s Web by e.b. White, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, Stephen King’s The Stand, Sarah’s Key, and the beautiful perfect The Goldfinch.
Water. There are Neptune and water sign aspects this week, and anytime Neptune is involved, immerse in water.
drink it, bathe in it, long showers, walk in the rain, go to the ocean, a lake, a river—any natural body, swim in a pool, wade, go boating, go to a public aquarium, meditate while looking at your aquarium…..
Dance. Dance. Dance. Neptune loves dancing. Dancing & music. Loud. Wild. Dance alone in the kitchen. Dance in a club. Dance naked. Dance like Stevie Nicks. Dance like David Byrne in the Big Suit video. Belly dance. Tap dance. Just dance. Put on your red shoes and dance the blues.

Journal. Don’t think. Just write write write write write
Paint, Draw, Create…..glue images in a notebook, paint a wall if you don’t feel creative, make an art car, papier mache, make something fun with Sculpy, start a bullet journal……
Meditation or Recitation—do you live near
Shield and Protect. Daily. Often.
Crystals. Carry, sleep with, meditate with, purchase, and charge water crystals. Some of my favorite water crystals are: Flourite, selenite, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Azurite,
Celestite, Chrysocolla, Coral, Mother-of-pearl, Lapis lazuli, Lepidolite, Moonstone, Pearl, Blue and Pink Tourmaline, Sapphire, Selenite, Sodalite, Topaz, turquoise, emerald, citrine, quartz, kunzite, opal and coral.
The Moon. Sit in the moonlight. The moon is a giant quartz filled crystal sending out it’s abundance and expansion. . . .channel her. She is always there for you. . . she moves us and shakes us and is pure emotion.
Take long drives…… alone…..or with someone who you can share comfortable silence with who you have no weird stuff that needs to be sorted out with…… and be sure you have the ability to record your thoughts aloud if you get inspiration for art, life, decisions…… it’s amazing the ideas what surface when you’re driving long stretches in the quiet or listening to music…..
What not to do for a release…………..
Make big decisions, Open up the age old can of worms/Pandora’s Box family shit, End relationships of any kind, Quit your job, Put a pet to sleep, Look at photos that will reopen wounds, Drink alcohol, do drugs, use sugar for solace, overindulge in foods. run off to Vegas and get married, adopt a new pet (unless you find a rescue), make a major purchase, order a bunch of stuff online that you can’t afford.
Hold space for each other. Don’t be sparingly with your words of affection, your terms of endearment, your love and appreciation. Send love notes, love texts, put sweet nothings in lunchboxes of your beloveds. Buy flowers. Be sweet.
We’ll do the best we can and get through the wave of feels together.
With love, and all good things–
